People still don’t get it?
This is unbelievable as I listen to the TV, Radio, Read the papers around the country, check out the blogs and Internet and talking to some of my friends.
I scratch my head wonder what the hell are people thinking? Is there something in the water or our food supply? I am hearing things like it’s a hurricane and nobody can control that! Or (this is the big one) it’s not our government’s responsibility to help us in time of need. And then we have the ones who just don’t see it “Bush did nothing wrong”?
Well common sense tells me there right it is a hurricane and we cannot control it, but we sure as hell can control how fast we as a nation can get there to help especially since we saw it coming 5 days before it hit.
Then there is “It’s not our governments responsibility” Well what the hell am I paying my tax dollars to? And if that is the case I want my damn money back.
The fundamental reason George W. Bush was re-elected was his commitment to national security and a government able to deal with post-9/11 real crises and calamities. That was his promise. And when the first real post 9/11 test came, he flunked it.
Then we have the one’s that say Bush did nothing wrong it was all the Local & State that drop the ball. Well State & Local most certainly did. No argument there. I have no doubt that Blanco was far too dilatory and Nagin less than skillful when it counted. They take their fair share of the responsibility. But you know what? Blanco and Nagin weren't elected as commander-in-chief.
Then we have the lack of action from the Democrats? When they do say something it sounds like it came from another world. God is there anybody in this country that can simply lead it with out all the bullshit. Do we not have a leader that is truly for the people of the people? And damn is it to much to ask for a President who pays more attention to things in America and Americans than other governments and there people. Is it so hard to have a President who is honest, fair, has integrity, and has values, look’s at people as human beings not by there color or economic status? Is it so hard to have a President that knows the difference between America from Mexico? Can we have a President that maybe believes that Business & Labor should stay in America and not in Mexico, India, Europe and God knows where else.
I know I am ranting here but God help us, where does it all end. I still believe this is the best country in the world. But to be honest with everybody that’s not saying a lot. I love this country and it would be irresponsible of me to not speak my frustrations and anger as an American. I know that don’t make me right either? But I don’t think I am asking for much. Love People trust in God, Honesty, Integrity, and compassion. One last thing! What about us as Americans trying the same thing.
